Watch: FDNY Firefighters Arrive at 4-Alarm Building Fire in Queens

    Three firefighters were among those injured in a stubborn four-alarm fire in Queens Sunday morning.
    Six people, including three firefighters, were injured in a four-alarm fire in a Queens building Sunday.
     
    “At approximately 11:40 this morning, Queens Fire Communications received a report of a fire. We were on scene in about two minutes and 30 seconds,” Deputy Chief George Healy said in a statement. “We had heavy fire on the second floor. This went to a fourth alarm, partially because of fire conditions, partially because of the heat today.”
     
    The building, located at Linden Boulevard and 200th Street, was cluttered, fire officials said.
     
    Three civilians and three firefighters were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
     
    Healy said, "The heat is very debilitating,” which is one of the reasons the fire reached four alarms.
     
    The response included 18 engines, 11 ladders, one rescue, one squad, 16 chiefs and nearly a dozen special unit with over 170 firefighters responding.
