Single-Engine Plane Crashes near Williamsburg, VA

Virginia State Police are investigating a single-engine plane crash that occurred north of Wiliamsburg, according to a press release from state police.
The pilot and only occupant was transported to a hospital to be evaluated, but no injuries were reported. The crash occurred at 213 Lightfoot Road near Old Mooretown Road. The plane, a Cessna, was coming from the Williamsburg airport and on its way to West Point, according to social media reports from Virginia Statewide Incidents.
Photographs showed the plane lying on its top in an overgrown grassy area.
The crash was called in at 5:26 p.m., but troopers are still on scene investigating.
