One Dead, Two Critical in Shooting, Fire at Grand Blanc, MI, Church

Officials expect to find more victims once they can enter the fire-damaged remains of the Latter-day Saints church in Grand Blanc.

The Michigan State Patrol confirmed one person was killed and nine were injured, including two who are in critical condition, CNN reports. They said the shooter then set fire to the church and officials expect to find more victims once they can enter the remains of the church.

Grand Blanc – Multiple people were shot at a Grand Blanc church Sunday and the church is on fire.

The shooting was at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, about 50 miles north of Detroit, Grand Blanc police said on social media.

Grand Blanc police said the shooter is down and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Police are urging people to avoid the area.

Investigators from the FBI are on scene of the shooting, bureau spokesman Jordan Hall said.

Police are also setting up a reunification site nearby.
