Ammonia Leak at Yazoo County, MS, Plant Contained

An evacuation order was lifted for residents who live near the chemical plant in Yazoo County.

An evacuation order has been lifted for residents after an ammonia leak at a chemical plant in Yazoo County.

Residents reported felling a strong jolt Wednesday afternoon that was followed by a large plume of smoke coming from the CF Industries plant, WAPT reported.

Officials said all employees and contractors were accounted for and there were no injuries.

Hydrogen and nitrogen products are manufactured at the plant.
