A woman died early Wednesday after she, two other adults and a child were removed from a mobile home during a two-alarm fire in Lewisville.

Heavy flames could be seen coming from the doors of the home in the 600 block of Holfords Prairie Road when firefighters arrived at the Eagle Ridge Mobile Home Park around 2:30 a.m., according to a news release from the Lewisville Fire Department.

Firefighters quickly started to extinguish the fire while also entering the home to search for anyone inside. The fire was upgraded to a second alarm due to its growing intensity and reports of multiple people being trapped inside.

One of the people inside the home was able to escape and tell officials that four of their family members were still inside, firefighters said.

Despite the heavy smoke and fire inside, firefighters said they were able to find and remove three adults and a child.

Once outside, crews worked to revive two of the adults and the child, all of whom were found to be in cardiac arrest, firefighters said.

All five were taken to hospitals, where a woman pulled from the fire later died. Three others remain in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon, firefighters said.

The identity of the woman who died was not immediately disclosed.

Firefighters said they are investigating the cause of the fire.
