At approximately 6am on April 14, 2005, Cleveland's University Heights Fire Department was dispatched to a confirmed structure fire with multiple calls.
Upon arrival, a second alarm was dropped for Clevland Heights and Shaker Heights to respond to the scene on Charney Ave.
Heavy flames met the crews and the fire was creating potential collapse of the roof, three stories above the ground.
According to the people in the house at the time of the fire, the owners of the home were on an expedition in Southwest Asia and could not be reachd by telephone. They continued to state that they were watching the house for the homeowners and that they had lit candles sometime during the middle of the night and do not recall extinguishing the candles.
No one was hurt in the incident.
