A tanker truck carrying 50,000 litres of diesel fuel caught fire on the Trans Canada highway just east of Elkhorn Manitoba, Canada.
The fire started in the cab of the truck, and spread to the front tank.
The rear tank was cooled and did not catch fire while the front tank was allowed to burn itself out.

Firefighters from Elkhorn and Virden Manitoba fought the blaze Sept. 6 with assistance from the Moosomin Saskatchewan Fire Department. The fire burned for eight hours with about 80,000 gallons of water used. The driver escaped uninjured.
