Rochester firefighters were called to a house fire with reports of people trapped Monday at 12:45 p.m.
Units were called to 123 Griffith St. and the assignment was Engines 1 and 17, Truck 10, Rescue 11, Battalion 2, the Protectives and the deputy chief. Engine 13 was assigned to RIC.
Crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the three-story home.
The crew of Engine 1 stretched an attack line into the building that had several apartments.
At 12:50 p.m., command requested a second alarm bringing Engine 8, Trucks 3 and 4.
Firefighters reported that all searches were negative. The fire was placed under control in 30 minutes.
The fire damaged the one unit and caused extensive damage to several others.
Ten people were displaced.
