Firefighters Control Rochester, N.Y. House Fire

An Oct. 14 fire damaged a Rochester home.Around 9:45 a.m. Quint 7/Midi 7, Engine 16, Truck 4, Engine 1 were dispatched to 245 1st Street for smoke coming from the second floor. Engine 12 was assigned to Rapid Intervention.Battalion 1 found heavy smoke from the top floor of the large two-story home of wood frame construction.A full assignment was requested and brought the Deputy Chief, the Protectives and Quint 6.

An Oct. 14 fire damaged a Rochester home.

Around 9:45 a.m. Quint 7/Midi 7, Engine 16, Truck 4, Engine 1 were dispatched to 245 1st Street for smoke coming from the second floor. Engine 12 was assigned to Rapid Intervention.

Battalion 1 found heavy smoke from the top floor of the large two-story home of wood frame construction.

A full assignment was requested and brought the Deputy Chief, the Protectives and Quint 6.

The fire was found in the back of the home and crews found heavy smoke upstairs. Firefighters moved hoselines into the front door and searched for the stairs to the second floor. A crew opened the roof and found fire in the attic.

The fire was under control in 20 minutes.
