On July 2, firefighters from Rush Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Rt15A at Phelps Road.
Crews were directed off road to a hay bale loading vehicle worth over $70,000 which had dumped its load of burning hay but was stuck with fire spreading into the rear of the vehicle.
The engine crew cut off the fire and had the vehicle pulled to safety by another tractor.
Honeoye Falls and Henrietta Co #1 firefighters came to the scene to assist with the overhaul of 60 plus bales of burning hay.
Scottsville FD filled in at Rush. Rush FD and Henrietta Ambulance provided rehab.
This took over two hours, 4,000 of water and 15 gal. of class A foam.
Monroe Co. Fire bureau is conducting the fire investigation.
On July 3, around 2 p.m. Rush, Honeoye Falls and Henrietta Co 1 returned to put out the remaining bales. East Avon filled in, and Rush ambulance provided rehab.
