New Jersey Fire and First Aid Crews Respond to Cement Truck Rollover

On April 6, 2004 The Barnegat Township, Ocean County, New Jersey Volunteer Fire Company and First Aid Squad were dispatched to Route 9 and W. Bay Ave. for a rolled over cement truck.
On April 6, 2004 The Barnegat Township, Ocean County, New Jersey Volunteer Fire Company and First Aid Squad were dispatched to Route 9 and W. Bay Ave. for a rolled over cement truck.
Upon arrival, members found the cement truck on its side with the driver trapped. The driver was extricated from the truck by Fire and First Aid personel and was taken to a nearby hospital.
It took 2 hours and 4 tow rigs to upright the truck which forced the closure of W. Bay Ave. and the temporary closure of Route 9. The cement truck was still carrying half a load when it toppled.
