On Sunday, June 18, 2006, at 1:01 pm, fire struck a single family dwelling in Santa Clara, California.
After receiving multiple calls reporting heavy smoke and flames from a home at 1402 Alpine Avenue, units of the Santa Clara Fire Department arrived to find fire blowing from the B side of the structure and extending to a detached garage.
Shortly after the initial fire attack was launched a second alarm was called by the Incident Commander, Battalion Chief Bill Kelly.
Firefighters were able to keep the flames from consuming the entire structure, but the garage, at least one vehicle, and an adjacent storage building were a complete loss.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
