Church Burns in Haddonfield, New Jersey

Task Force 14 was dispatched in Haddonfield for a report of a church fire at 238 Ellis St. on June 19.

HADDONFIELD, N.J. - Task Force 14 was dispatched in Haddonfield for a report of a church fire at 238 Ellis St. on June 19.

Police arrived and confirmed that fire was through the roof.

Command arrived and requested the second alarm, reporting a 2.5-story structure with heavy fire through the roof.

Crews stretched lines and set up a tower-ladder. Interior crews reported heavy fire in the attic area. Shortly thereafter the third alarm was sounded. Crews battled the blaze in high heat as temperature was in the 90s.

Interior crews were pulled out as the tower-ladder went into service with a master stream from its bucket.

It was confirmed that roofers were working on the church at the time the fire broke out.

No injuries were reported.

Units operating on location were Haddonfield, Cherry Hill, Haddon Heights, Westmont, Oaklyn, Lawnside, Bellmawr and Audubon.

The fire is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshal's Office.
