Three hundred fifty feet above the ground a construction worker injured his leg on top of a crane in Century City, Los Angeles.
The man caught his ankle in a cable, severely breaking it. Los Angeles Firefighters were dispatched and "air ops" dispatched copters three and four to the scene. "OCD" also dispatched USAR and the Heavy Rescue to the scene. Olympic Boulevard was shut down and traffic was averted around the accident site.
The man, who was near a side basket on the cranes main arm, was quickly treated. A special harness was attached to him and the man was quickly hoisted above aboard L.A. Air Four.
With paramedics on board, the injured man was airlifted to a local area hospital.
The cause of the afternoon accident is under investigation.
