In the early afternoon of March 17, 2004, the Fall River, MA Fire Department responded to 39 Rolling Green Drive for a building fire.
First due companies reported heavy smoke showing from 3-story, wood frame "Garden" apartment.
Due to the building being set back, engine companies faced a long stretch through a newly fallen 6 inches of snow.
Incident command initially requested an extra engine and truck but later ordered several extra engines to the scene.
Members of Ladder 5 cut a hole in the roof and reported to command that the fire was through the vent hole.
Shortly after their exit, a section of the roof fell in and companies were forced to fight the fire from the exterior.
The cause of the fire is unknown and no injuries were reported.
