On March 12, 2004, around 7:50 PM, a fire broke out in a Lisbon (Milwaukee area), Wisconsin church. An automatic alarm company reported the blaze.
First arrival by a local sherriffs deptartment member reported heavy smoke coming from the church. Information was then relayed to fire companies and a box alarm was struck on arrival of the first arriving engine company.
Initial interior attack crews reported heavy fire over their heads in the attic of the church. Light weight truss construction was noted and defensive operations set up.
This area was without hydrants, so a tanker operation including 18 tankers from a dozen departments worked to help supply three truck companies from Sussex, and two local area mutual aid companies. There were approximately 90 firefighters operating at this fire.
