On March 2, 2004, Roxbury Fire and EMS Units were dispatched to an MVA with Fire on RT 67.
Upon arrival, units found that a Dodge Neon had run one car off the road, then continued out of control, striking and breaking a utility pole, dropping wires and a transformer, then bursting into flames.
The driver of the Neon was able to escape the wreckage with minor injuries while the mother and child in the other vehicle were uninjured.
Fire units knocked the fire down in short order, while Fleet Environmental services cleaned up gasoline from the ruptured fuel tank, and fluid from the leaking transformer.
Connecticut State Police conducted the investigation.
