Kodiak, Alaska Fire & Rescue Teams Respond to MVA

In the early morning hours of February 29, 2004, a pickup traveling at a high rate of speed hit some black ice, lost control and ran into a nearby ditch.

KODIAK, Alaska -- In the early morning hours of February 29, 2004, a pickup traveling at a high rate of speed hit some black ice, lost control and ran into a nearby ditch.

The initial dispatch was for a non-injury accident. The Alaska State Troopers and Bayside Fire Chief responded to assess the scene.

Upon arrival, the Bayside Fire Chief found three victims who needed medical attention. An engine, a tanker, a squad, and two ambulances were dispatched out to the scene.

All three victims were transported to a nearby hospital, one in critical condition, and two in stable condition.
