The Mahan fire occured within 20 minutes of being exactly 1 month after the Ashby Baptist Church fire.
The dental clinic fire was determined to have started from an electrical outlet. Volunteer Fire Departments from Brierfield and nearby Montevallo responded.
The unique thing about this fire is that the dental clinic was built around a log cabin that was constructed in 1768.
Quick actions by the departments were able to save the log cabin along with most of the patient's dental records and the hard drive on the main computer.
