Myersville, Maryland House Blaze Fought by 12 Fire Companies

At 1:44 PM, on Saturday, January 31, 2004, units from Myersville, Wolfsville, Middletown & Boonsboro, MD were dispatched for a house fire near the Frederick/Washington County, Maryland line.

At 1:44 PM, on Saturday, January 31, 2004, units from Myersville, Wolfsville, Middletown & Boonsboro, MD were dispatched for a house fire near the Frederick/Washington County, Maryland line.

First arriving units from Myersville reported on the scene with "heavy smoke showing" and established a tanker shuttle for rural water supply operations.

Fire was extending from the basement to the first floor.

Twelve companies (Myersville, Wolfsville, Middletown, Braddock Heights, Frederick-Independent Hose, Juniors, Uniteds, & Citizens Truck, Boonsboro, Smithsburg, Mount Aetna & Hagerstown) were required to bring the blaze under control which was fought with temperatures hovering in the teens with a steady wind.

The Maryland State Fire Marshals office is investigating the fire.
