Townhouse Fire in Chesterfield County, Virginia

At 3:04 am, on Sunday, March 5, 2006, Chesterfield Fire & EMS (CFEMS) units were dispatched to a townhouse fire in the northern section of Chesterfield County, Virginia.

CFEMS Battalion 3, Chief Kevin Spaulding, arrived to find heavy fire conditions in a two-story end unit townhouse. The fire had vented out of the rear kitchen window and vinyl siding had aided the fire spread into the soffit and attic areas in the rear of the structure.

Responding crews quickly knocked down the fire in the 1st floor kitchen and attic areas.

There was no fire extension to the bravo exposure which only suffered slight smoke damage.

The fire was controlled using 3 engines, 1 truck and 2 medics from CFEMS and 1 Richmond City engine which responded via an automatic mutual aid agreement. It was marked under control in approximately 45 minutes.
