On Sunday, February 19th, at 11:18 am, the Milton and Turbot Township Fire Departments were dispatched to 6805 Paradise Road, in Turbot Township for a reported house fire.
Chief 1501 (Shaffer) could see the column from miles away and requested the second alarm bringing units from Warrior Run, White Deer Township, Turbotville, and Montgomery (Lycoming County).
Chief 1501 arrived to find a two story 1800's farm house fully involved. Engine 15-1 arrived first and made an initial hit with the deck gun. Water supply was established using porta-tanks and a tanker shuttle. Within 5 minutes of arriving on scene the entire structure collapsed.
Crews utilized multiple handlines from engine 15-1 and Turbotville engine 11-1 to knock down remaining fire.
A private contractor responded with a track hoe to assist with overhaul.
Units operated on scene until 1506.
Chief 1501 had command, Chief 1503(Goodbrod) had operations. Cause is under investigation.
