Orange Beach, Alabama Fire Rescue responded to a working commercial structure fire just after midnight on February 15, 2006.
First-due companies found fire coming through the front windows and through the roof. Despite the heavy volume of fire, the fire was brought under control within one hour and twenty minutes.
Orange Beach Engines 1, 2, Ladder 1, Battalion 1 and Fire Chief Forney Howard were assisted by Gulf Shores Fire Rescue Engine1 and Ladder 6, as well as Escambia County (FL) Engine 19-19.
A total of nine businesses were affected by the fire, with a video rental store and a tobacco store experiencing a total loss.
The fire remains under investigation by Orange Beach Fire Marshal Todd Posey, assisted by the Alabama State Fire Marshal's Office.
