The fire was started by a juvenile using a lighter and an accelerant (cologne) in his bedroom.
When crews arrived on the scene, the house was fully involved and one person was unaccounted for. This person got out on his own accord within minutes of the crews arrival.
Fire attack was hampered by heavy smoke conditions. Even so, the fire was knocked down within 20 minutes.
There were no civilian injuries. However, there were two minor firefighter injuries (1 burn & 1 laceration). Two cats and one bird perished in the fire.
The house was gutted by the fire and considered a total loss.
