Reading firefighters were battling another 3 alarm fire in cold temperatures, just 24 hours after three businesses were lost to another 3 alarm fire on Main Street. Reading firefighters were once again fighting ice and flames.

The large three story wood building was home to many businesses in the heart of downtown. A large plume of black smoke was visible in the sky over the morning commute as traffic was snarled by fire apparatus converged on the center of town.

The fire is under investigation and appears to be accidental and not connected to the other fire.

Wakefield, Stoneham, Woburn, North Reading, Burlington assisted Reading with dousing the 2nd 3-alarm fire in 24 hours.
