Virginia Beach, Virginia - Virginia Beach firefighters responded to a house fire on January 2, 2006, and found heavy smoke and fire pushing from all four sides when they arrived.

As the fire quickly spread, firefighters realized that a compressed gas was feeding the fire.

One firefighter injured his leg and had to be transported to a local hospital.

Two additional engines were dispatched as attack crews tried to knock down the heavy volume of fire.

As more apparatus arrived, more hand-lines were placed in service around the structure. However, numerous explosions were heard inside the building.

Crews were backed out and two master streams were placed in service; Engine 19's telesquit, and Ladder 21.

The fire was quickly knocked down and fire crews moved back in to the house to complete knock down.

The fire is under investigation.
