Millbury, Massachusetts Firefighters Battle Tractor Trailer Fire

On Saturday December 20, 2003 at around 1230 p.m. the Millbury, Massachusetts Fire Department was toned out for a working tractor trailer fire on the Mass Pike, I90 in the area of exit 10a.

The fire department arrived to find a tractor trailer unit well involved and the driver of the unit standing on the shoulder with a fire extinguisher in hand.

Crews began their attack on the fire but had to deal with traffic still flowing on the Massachusetts Pike. Crews used to hand lines to combat the fire and had the file under control in around 15 minutes.

State Police shut down the west bound side of the interstate. Traffic on the pike was backed up for miles do to the closure.
