Vehicle Crashes into Restaurant in Greeley, Colorado

About 1:00 pm on December 13, 2005, Union Colony Fire Rescue Firefighters in Greeley, Colorado were called to a vehicle that had crashed into the "Egg & I" restaurant in Greeley.

About 1:00 pm on December 13, 2005, Union Colony Fire Rescue Firefighters in Greeley, Colorado were called to a vehicle that had crashed into the "Egg & I" restaurant in Greeley.

Upon their arrival they found a vehicle had crashed through the front window.

The driver, a 78 year old woman, and some customers who had been sitting in a nearby booth were examined for injuries. One diner who was seated at a booth saw the car coming and leaped out of the way, avoiding serious injury.

All individuals involved were treated and released at the scene.

The woman stated she was attempting to park in front of the restaurant when she got the gas and brake pedal confused. She was cited for careless driving.

Fire crews assessed the scene for hazards and turned the building over to City of Greeley Building Inspections Department personnel.
