Wilmington, Delaware -- On Sunday 30 November 2003 at 0316 hours the Brandywine Hundred, Talleyville, Claymont Fire Companies were dispatched to 232 Philadelphia Pike, Brandywine Hundred for a building fire.
Upon his arrival Chief Mike DiMauro, Jr. (11-8) found heavy fire and smoke showing from the rear of the (3) three story Front Porch Bar & Grill.
The fire quickly spread and additional fire companies were requested to assist in the operation. Approximately 100 firefighters from Brandywine Hundred, Talleyville, Claymont, Minquadale, Minquas, Belvedere and Lower Chichester (Delaware County) Fire Companies were called into action. Parkside Fire Company (Delaware County) covered Brandywine Hundreds Station.
Chief Mike DiMauro, Jr. placed the fire under control in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes at 0452 hours.
There is major fire damaged to the (3) three story Brandywine Hundred landmark and it contents.
No injuries to the firefighters.
The cause and origin are under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal
