On November 30, 2005, at approximately 11:40 pm, Camden City Firefirefighters were dispatched to the area of South 27th Street and Benson Streets for a reported dwelling fire.
Engine Co.'s 9, 11; Tower Ladders 3, and 1; Rescue 1; and Battalion 2 were dispatched to the call. First due companies arrived to find a 2 story twin heavy involved with possible extension to the bravo exposure.
Engine 9 had some water supply problems and Battalion had Squad 7 and Battalion 1 dispatched as well.
Companies went into service with exterior operations due to the integrity of the dwelling.
Rescue Co. 1 and Engine 11 went to work in the bravo side with 2- 1 3/4 handlines.
Engine 9 used 2 handlines.
Battalion 2 requested the 2nd alarm, bringing Engine Co.'s 6, and 1; Ladder 2; and Car 3 for staging and additional manpower.
Multiple handlines and elevated water ways were used to control the fire within 50 minutes from dispatch, at approximately 12:30 am.
No reported injuries at the scene.
