On 11/10/03 Webster Fire Department (NY) was dispatched to a MVA with a report of people trapped.

Assistant chief on location confirming people trapped and requested a Mercy Flight to the scene. The rescue was compounded by the fact that 6 feet of the trucks frame went through the tree and rendered the truck stuck.

It took one hour and forty-five minutes to extricate the driver using hand tools and reciprocating saws. The pt was air lifted to the trauma center where he is expected to survive. The truck had to be cut away from the tree to remove it.
