Serious Del. Motor Vehicle Crash With Ejection

A single motor vehicle hit a utility pole head-on and sheared it off ejecting (3) three occupants from the vehicle onto Lee Blvd.

Wilmington, Delaware Sunday 2 November 2003 at 0222 a single motor vehicle hit a utility pole head-on and sheared it off ejecting (3) three occupants from the vehicle onto Lee Blvd.

The car was traveling east on Lea Boulevard. The accident occurred on Lea Boulevard and East Matson Run in Wilmington.

When Wilmington Fire Department Engine Company 4 and Battalion Chief Michael Donohue arrived at the scene they found (3) three males occupants of the car lying in the roadway. Engine Company 4 started working on the three occupants.

They were assisted by (Keystone) PA1 and PA2, New Castle County Paramedics and Wilmington Fire Department Rescue 2.

One of the victims was unconscious the other two were conscious and all three were suffering from head, leg, arm and back injuries. They were stabilized at the scene and then taken to the Christiana Hospital and are listed in critical condition.
