On October 25, 2005, The City of Marco Island, Florida Fire Rescue Department responded to a report of a working structure fire in the Goodland area.
Upon arrival Engine 50 advised of a fully involved two story concrete/wood frame single family house. Engine 50 pulled lines to protect the exposure and began a surround and drown exterior attack.
The crews from Marco Island already running multiple calls due to a direct hit from Hurricane Wilma requested mutual aid from the Isle of Capri Fire Rescue Department & East Naples Fire Rescue Department.
The Investigation by Marco Fire Rescue and The State Fire Marshal determined the cause to be a generator in the rear of the structure.
Due to the hurricane, this will be marked as a disaster related fire.
