Maywood, IL -- The Maywood Fire Department fought this 2nd alarm fire on Thursday, September 29th, with assistance from 6 neighboring suburbs from MABAS Division's 20 & 11.
Crews arrived to find a 2 1/2 story home with the rear enclosed back porch fully involved.
Fire was extending into the 1st & 2nd floors, and had already made the attic.
Multiple handlines where pulled as an aggressive attack ensued.
Due to the fast moving fire thru-out the voids of this large home, a well coordinated exterior and interior attack was used.
Once the roof was opened, crews where able to make excellent headway in extinguishing the stubborn attic fire. When the fire was extinguished, extensive overhaul was required.
There were no injuries and the cause of this blaze in under investigation.
