Firefighters Respond to Vermont Motel Fire

At 10:30 AM on September 24th, Swanton, Vermont Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at the Blue Ford Motel.

Upon arrival, Swanton Engine 3 confirmed that there was heavy smoke coming from the attic above the rooms.

Mutual Aid was quickly requested for Tankers from 4 surrounding Departments, including one Department from Canada to respond with additional man-power.

Due to the quick response and initial actions from everyone, the Motel was not a complete loss.

Unfortunately 4 families were left homeless due to mostly water damage.
