On October 1, 2005, at approximatly 11:55 pm, Grandview Fire Department was dispatched for a vehicle fire.
Engine 1 and Squad 1 went enroute to the incident. While units were enroute, fire dispatch advised that there was a second call recieved for a vehicle rollover in the same area.
Engine 1 and Squad 1 arrived on scene to a one vehicle on its side, suffering multiple rolls and power lines on the ground.
Upon careful approach to the vehicle, Engine 1's crew located 2 patients that had self extricated themselves.
CareFlite Ground ambulance arrived on scene to treat and transport the patients. Patients suffered only minor injuries.
Patients were packaged and transported to the trauma center.
The vehicle had apparently missed a sharp turn and attempted to correct. The vehicle then slid sideways, striking a utility pole and continuing to roll into an open field.
The utility pole broke at ground level, causing lines to lay across the road and lay parrallel to the road in the ditch.
Units remained on scene awaiting DPS Officer and power company. Units cleared at 2am and returned back to station.
