Pennsylvania Crews Extricate Two Victims

On September 14, Greater Valley EMS & Rescue along with South Waverly Fire Department were dispatched to a reported serious MVA in the area of Fulton St. and Lafeyette St. in South Waverly Borough.

On September 14, 2003 at 01:37 hours, Greater Valley EMS & Rescue along with South Waverly Fire Department were dispatched by Bradford Co. EOC, to a reported serious MVA in the area of Fulton St. and Lafeyette St. in South Waverly Borough.

South Waverly Police Department, first on location advised of a single vehicle vs. a tree advising of possible entrapment. Valley-3 (Todd Pruitt) arrived on location at 01:42 and advised of a single vehicle into a tree, confirming 2 heavily entrapped and requested an additional Rescue to the scene. Rescue crews placed 2 tools into service performing a roof removal and found that both patients were on top of each other; trapped in the passenger side of the vehicle which was up next to a large tree.

Patient number 1 was extricated at 01:58 and patient number 2 was extricated at 02:04 with all units clearing the scene at 03:00. Both patients were transported by ground to Robert Packer Hospital.

Units on location: Greater Valley Res7cue, Greater Valley MICU's 35, 36 and 37, South Waverly Engine and Squad, Waverly Barton Rescue, South Waverly, Athens Borough and Sayre Police Departments.
