The Reading Fire Department battled a stubborn fire early Friday morning on August 29, 2003. The box alarm was transmitted at approximately 01:00 hours. The communications center informed units during the dispatch that they had flames showing from their vantage point.
Ladder 1 arrived on location and reported fire through the roof. Immediately after Ladder 1's report, Engine 3 arrived on location and reported the first floor to be fully involved. Car 4 arrived on scene moments later and requested the second alarm. A total of three alarms were transmitted.
Crews battled the fire through the evening.
