Washington County Firefighters Respond to House Fire in Hagerstown, Maryland

On September 30th, Crews from Hagerstown and Halfway were dispatched out just after 2pm for a house fire.

Hagerstown, MD- On September 30th, Crews from Hagerstown and Halfway were dispatched out just after 2pm for a house fire.

Southend Fire Company Engine 5 was the first on scene to find a working structure fire.

Battalion Chief Myers arrived after Engine 5 and assumed command of the incident.

Chief Myers immediately requested assistance from Washington County Air Unit, Medic 26 out of Halfway, and Rescue Squad 10 out of Funkstown.

Crews on the scene were able to quickly gain control and contain the fire.

Fire crews remained on the scene for an extended period for overhaul operations after the fire was knocked down.

The American Red Cross was notified to assist the residents involved in the incident.

No one was injured during the incident and the Hagerstown Fire Marshals Office is investigating the incident.

Hagerstown Crews were assisted by Halfway Fire & EMS, Funkstown Fire, and Emergency Services Air Unit and Rehab Unit.
