Saturday September 24, 2005, there was a 5- alarm fire in the St. Laurent district of Montreal, Canada.

The building was a 4- story wood and brick apartment building.

The fire started as a cooking fire on the 2nd floor and spread rapidly.

There were multiple evacuations down ladders.
