Morton Grove Fire Fighters responded to 7846 Long for a report of a structure fire in a single family dwelling.

Niles and Skokie Fire Departments were also due to the scene.

Firefighters had heavy fire in the basement which was fed by a gas leak.

Niles Firefighters and Skokie Firefighters had heavy fire flash on them when they were inside fighting this fire.

All firefighters escaped with no injuries.

Niles Batt 2 asked red center dispatch for a box alarm for manpower to assist firefighters that had been fighting this fire for a while.

Firefighters worked for about 3 hours to bring this fire under control after the gas company was called to shut off the gas.

Fire Departments due on the box were Niles Engine Lincolnwood truck, Northmaine Engine, also Northmaine with a chief, and Northfield Engine change of quarters.

The cause of fire is under investigation.
