Hagerstown, MD- Firefighters from Funkstown and Hagerstown were dispatched out at 4:30 pm on the August 29th for a garage fire.
Crews responded to 11202 Robinwood Drive on Monday for a working garage fire.
Firefighters responding on the call were able to see heavy smoke from several miles away.
Firefighter Zeigler of Halfway Company 26 was in the area and arrived to find a garage fully involved. Upon his arrival, he called into 9-1-1 and reported his findings to them.
Washington County Dispatch advised responding units and immediately initiated the working fire dispatch and started an additional engine out of Mount Aetna, along with a medic unit from Community Rescue and the Washington County Emergency Air Unit.
It took crews around twenty minutes to bring the blaze under control. Once under control, crews worked to over haul the scene for an hour to confirm the fire was out which was reported at 6:05 pm.
Crews from Funkstown Company 10 were assisted by HFD Engine 3, HFD Truck 1, Mount Aetna Co.16, Community Rescue Co.75, Washington County Air Unit 25, Rehab Unit 255 personnel, and the Maryland State Fire Marshals Office.
