Buffalo Firefighters Battle Vacant House Fire

Just before 01:00, Sunday morning, as crews were battling a vacant house fire on Buffalo's East Side.

Buffalo Fire Dispatch began recieving numerous calls for a fire in a vacant building on Seneca St in South Buffalo.

The 6th Battalion Chief arrived and reported heavy fire on the 2nd floor into the attic and through the roof of a vacant 2.5 story frame attached to a 2.5 story frame on side 4 and a large 3 story block on side 3 all part of a former Tuxedo rental business at 2308 Seneca St.

An additional Engine and Truck were requested followed by a 2nd alarm minutes later.

Three ladderpipes and numerous handlines were put into operation as fire spread into the exposure 4 attached structure, and through the roof.

The fire was placed undercontrol almost 1-1/2 hours later.

The Fire Marshalls were requested to the scene.

Damage was set at $200,000
