CT Firefighters Battle Fully Involved Farmhouse

At 545am on July 5th, the tones sounded for the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department for a reported structure fire on Vale Road.

Upon arrival, units found a large 2.5 story wood frame farmhouse fully involved on both floors.

A defensive attack was mounted, bringing units from both Brookfield Fire Companies, as well as mutual aid from the surrounding communities of Stony Hill, Hawleyville and New Milford.

A tanker shuttle was begun until a 5 inch supply line was laid over a thousand feet to a municipal fire hydrant just over the townline in nearby Bethel CT.

There were no injuries as approximately 50 firefighters battled the blaze for about 3 hours, and there were no injuries.
