Chesterfield, Virginia Firefighters Respond to Multi-Car MVA

On Wednesday, August 3rd, Chesterfield County, Virginia Fire and EMS companies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on a local state highway overpass.

On Wednesday, August 3rd, Chesterfield County, Virginia Fire and EMS companies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on a local state highway overpass.

On arrival companies found three vehicles involved in a high speed crash with two having rolled several times.

A scene assessment found 3 patients in three vehicles. One was uninjured and refused further treatment, one had minor injuries and the third suffered potential multi-systems trauma.

Due to the injuries of the third patient, the Virginia State Police EMS-Medflight helicopter was requested from the Chesterfield Airport just one quarter mile from the crash site. The critical patient was flown to a local Level-1 trauma center.

The incident was handled with two engines, two ALS medic units, a Battalion Chief and the on-duty Tactical Safety Officer.
