Pennsylvania Firefighters Perform Extrication

On June 10, 2003, after receiving a 911 call from a CO 7 volunteer firefighter on the scene, the Franklin County 911 center dispatched a rescue local box.

Shortly after 2130 hrs on Tuesday, June 10, 2003, after receiving a 911 call from a CO 7 volunteer firefighter on the scene, the Franklin County 911 center dispatched a rescue local box, "A vehicle accident with entrapment," located on Mt. Pleasant Road, Greene Township, Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, in Franklin County.

Rescue local box 7-7 was announced sending first due Co 7 Fayetteville with Squad 7,Engine 7-1, Mic-U 7-7,Amb. 7-8 and Deputy Chief 7. Upon arrival, entrapment was confirmed, with the other two patients out of the vehicle. Volunteers pulled the rescue tool from Squad 7 and began a lengthy extrication. The operator was pinned up against a telephone pole. Two patients were transported to a local hospital, and the other was flown by air medical "Life Lion" to a nearby trauma center.

The cause of the accident is unknown.
