2-Alarm Warehouse Fire in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue Department's first due units opened up Johnnie & Mack's Auto Body and Paint Shop on Monday, July 18, 2005.

The call was received at 6:07 pm and units arrived at 6:10 pm, reporting a working fire.

A second alarm was transmitted at 6:20 pm, bringing a total of 40-personnel with six engine companies, two ladder companies, three medical rescue units and five chief officers.

It took our personnel more than 30 minutes to bring the fire under control and another hour to extinguish the fire.

The damages were estimated at $250,000, and there were no injuries to civilians or our personnel.

The fire started in a paint mixing room and spread from there throughout the large 50 x 150 foot warehouse which also contained eight vehicles.
