Shortly after 2am, on June 29, 2005, firefighters from the City of Oviedo and Seminole County arrived to find the rear of the house at 1610 Barr Street, well involved.
Command ordered a defensive attack due to the heavy involvement and the lack of water supply in the rural area.
Firefighters protected exposures including nearby boats and woods.
Tankers were called in from neighboring Volusia and Orange Counties.
Units stayed on scene to daylight hours and the State Fire marshal is investigation the cause of the blaze which leveled the home.
