Under the direction of Chief Michael T. Pangia members of the Walden Fire Department and several area departments tested their skills in the use of large diameter hose. This exercise was held in one of the few hydranted areas in the Orange County 2nd Battalion.
The live burn of an old barn took place on Sherman Ave. in the Village of Walden. Units laid LDH from several hydrants while several units flowed large amounts of water including Aerial Master Streams on Walden Truck 240 and Montgomery Truck 221. Several tankers were on standby.
Assisting Walden were units from Coldenham, Montgomery, Maybrook, Pine Bush and Town of Montgomery Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
