Syracuse Firefighters Battle Vacant House Fire

Syracuse firefighters battled a vacant house fire at 447 Shonnard St. on Friday. The fire was reported at 2 p.m. in a vacant two and a half story home. The first floor was boarded up and crews found heavy smoke from the second floor. Crews forced entry to the structure and contained the fire to the second floor.The utilities had already been shut off, so investigators are investigating the cause of the fire.
